As Kalb Industries continues to grow, so does our staff. Meet two of our newer employees, Donny Starkey and Mike Watters.
Donny Starkey is working with us as a superintendent in Las Vegas, although he lives in Reno, Nevada. Donny started his construction career early working his way up to superintendent building custom homes. He also worked as a superintendent on commercial buildings. Donny’s most memorable project was a shopping center in Reno which was his first project “from the ground up.” While working on the project, Donny had to contend with a 6’ snowfall in the Reno area that impacted the construction schedule. Per Donny, due to the weather and other challenges, he learned a lot while building the shopping center. When not working Donny likes to golf, ride his motorcycle, and spoil his grandchildren.
Mike Watters is also working with us as a superintendent. Mike started as a finish carpenter after leaving the Army, and has been working as a superintendent for the past 8 years. Mike’s most memorable project was in 2015 when a local brewery outgrew their original location and had to move. The new location was an existing building with a lot of history that was remodeled to accommodate the brewery. It turns out that the original casework in this building was installed by Mike. When Mike is not working he likes camping, off-roading, and staying busy with his kids who rock climbing, play volleyball and guitar.
