Justin Kalb graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Construction Engineering. In 1999 he began his career in North Carolina providing design build for commercial services. Since 2001 he has aided the firm in insurance related repairs, commercial design builds and tenant improvement projects. In 2004 Justin’s leadership, his enthusiasm for change and forward thinking provided the creation of a new commercial and tenant improvement division. In 2008 Justin accepted the position of Vice President and part owner of Kalb Industries and in 2012 he was named President of Kalb Industries. Justin is LEED certified and achieved the Gold level of certification on his first project. His passion for giving back to the community, which he grew up in, was instrumental in his involvement with the Boys and Girls Club. He also serves as the Board Chair for Make-A-Wish Foundation, Southern Nevada Chapter and a member of Southwest Rotary. Giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate are genuine values that Justin not only believes in but hopes to pass down to his son, Hudson and his three daughters, Blair, Sloane, and Gigi.
Steven C. Kalb has a B.S. Degree in Construction Engineering from Arizona State University. Steve is the former CEO of Kalb Construction and was involved in more than $500 million in construction projects in the Las Vegas Valley over the past 39 years. Steve is currently chief executive officer of Kalb Industries of Nevada. His professional involvement includes past President of the Las Vegas Chapter of Associated General Contractors of America; Contractor of the Year and Life Board Member, National board Member of Associated General Contractors of America and Chairman of the Family Owned Business Committee. His community involvement includes many community boards including Boy Scouts of America, Opportunity Village and City of Las Vegas Redevelopment Corporation. Steven has spent almost 25 years with the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas, his involvement includes Past President, Board of Directors and present member of the Board of Governors.
Rick Hagendorn began work in the construction industry in 1975. In that time he has gathered a vast wealth of knowledge in the insurance field not only as a General Manager but a Chief Estimator as well. He has been with Kalb Industries since 1987; during this time he has estimated and managed over $100 million in commercial and residential projects in the Las Vegas Valley. He has a certificate from Vale National Training Centers in “Residential Building Damage Estimating”. He is proficient in and certified by Xactimate Estimating software, which is used by 90% of all insurance companies. Rick’s has appeared in trial as an “Expert” witness three separate times over the past ten years. He is a member of the Southern Nevada Claims Association, Southern Nevada Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Southern Nevada Chapter of Associated General Contractors and Institute of Real Estate Management.
Cathy Biel is our office manager and has served as our administrative liaison since 1993. Cathy supervises many functions of the office including but not limited to, day to day activities of the office, project management and processing, records management, collections and contract management.
Darin Pipkins began working in construction in 1993, where he spent his first seven years as a project superintendent in new residential construction. He has been working for Kalb Industries since 1999 and in that time he has performed duties as an superintendent, general superintendent, and currently is Senior Project Manager. Darin specializes in commercial estimating; he has been involved in new commercial, tenant improvements, all aspects of insurance related repairs, and residential and commercial construction. Darin is responsible for creating and maintaining new customers.
George Jarvis has been with Kalb since 2003. In his time with Kalb he has been a project superintendent and currently serves as our general superintendent where he is in charge of all on site safety aspects, field superintendents, carpenters, laborers and tools. He has supervised commercial tenant improvements, residential remodels and all facets of insurance related repairs. George also functions as an estimator and installer for our cabinet division SK&JK LLC.
Rick Thomas has been working in construction since 1975. His previous experiences include a wide range of projects including working as a Project Superintendent for Kalb Construction. In his time he has overseen a number of successful large scale projects from high rise buildings to residential and everything in between. Rick has now moved into a project manager and estimator role with Kalb Industries. With a vast scope of knowledge in many different areas of construction Rick is able to provide valuable insights on a multitude of diverse projects. He has been with Kalb Industries since 2013.
Jerry has worked in residential remodeling and all types of insurance related repairs since 1981. He has been with our firm since 1996 and in that time he served as a project superintendent specializing in the insurance field for 12 years and currently serves as an estimator heading our small residential insurance division and has doubled our volume over the past several years with USAA .
Mark Doty has worked in construction since 1998. His previous work includes commercial buildouts, ground-up , and residential builds. Since 2005 he has served as a Senior Project Manager and has the ability to manage large scale projects, teams, and budgets without losing sight of the details while keeping the customers’ needs at the forefront. Mark joined the Kalb team in 2016.
